An online-meeting on the theme “Implementation of the “small” grants program for NGOs on innovative approaches in adherence to treatment of the TB and M/XDR TB patients from the high risk groups under the GF Grant Project for the years 2020-2022” was held at the “NSCP of RK” of MoH of RK.
The meeting was held on 30 June 2020 in a format of online-conference with participation of the TBO and NGO representatives from all regions of the country within implementation of the Project “Effective responses to drug-resistant tuberculosis in Kazakhstan” No КАZ-Т-NCTP №1844 financed through the GF Grant funds on “Tuberculosis” component.
 
Purpose of the meeting was to discuss implementation of activities of the “Small grants” program for NGOs of the GF TB Project under the COVID-19 quarantine, as well as potential risks influencing on the program assessment indicators of NGO contribution to decreasing TB burden in Kazakhstan.
 
 
The NSCP Director and GF PIU specialists shared a plan of the GF activities to work with NGOs for 2020, goals, objectives and main NGO activities in accordance with the Terms of Reference under the “Small grants” program, as well as a review of the indicators to assess NGO activity within implementation of the GF Grant for 2020-2022, with the online-meeting participants. The Coordinator of the “Umit” Public association Zhaksybayeva N. presented the results of the NGO TB activity in the Karaganda oblast for 2018-2019 and for 3 months of 2020 under the new GF Project, shared the main successes, challenges and prospects of the NGO activity.
 
Major constraints and solutions in implementation of activities for timely and qualitative detection, diagnostics of TB cases under the COVID-19 quarantine, as well as increasing adherence to treatment of TB patients from the target groups and achievement of the key project indicators by NGOs were discussed during the meeting.
